Many people do not know the importance of replacing missing teeth immediately. As soon as you lose a tooth, the adjacent teeth start shifting towards the missing tooth space. That leads to gum problems and retaining food surrounding the adjacent teeth. Also, other teeth need to bear more load to compensate for the missing teeth. So the chances of fracturing adjacent teeth are higher. Replacing a missing tooth now will save you money, frustration, and discomfort in future.

We can provide many different options to replace your missing teeth including fixed implants, Implant supported dentures, all on 4 Implants, same day dental implants, fixed bridge, full mouth implants, partial or complete removable denture. You can make a clear choice after having a free consultation.

Indications for an implant.

  • To replace a missing tooth.
  • To replace multiple missing teeth.
  • To support a denture

What is involved with the procedure?

There are different steps involved with implant placement and restoring teeth. These steps depend on which tooth we are replacing, the amount of bone present, and the medical conditions of the patient. The following are generally the steps involved with placing dental implants when enough bone is present.

  1. Diagnosis and treatment planning
  2. We take radiographs and fabricate models to determine the length and position of the implant and make a treatment plan
  3. Placement of the implant
  4. Placement of implant involves surgically placing an implant in the bone.
  5. The healing process
  6. After placing an implant, we need to wait until the body accepts the dental implant and bone grows and fuses to the dental implant. Once it is completely healed which may take a few months, you are ready to have a replacement tooth.
  7. Replacing a missing tooth.
  8. The dental Implant serves as an artificial tooth root. We take an impression of the position of the dental implant and send it to a dental laboratory which fabricates a tooth crown (prosthetic tooth), which is attached to the dental implant. You will get a temporary crown while the lab fabricates the permanent crown. Once we check the fit of the crown, we attach it to the implant.

Dental Implant Cost

Dental Implants are made of high-quality titanium material. Dental Implants are a very good long-term investment to restore your smile without the hassle of maintenance. Many factors affect the cost of implants:

The number of teeth to be replaced

Some people need one tooth replaced, others may need multiple teeth replacement. The cost is more to replace more teeth with multiple implants.

Method of replacement

An implant can be used along with fixed bridges, crowns, or dentures. It depends on how many teeth need to be replaced and what method of replacement you prefer.

Additional preparatory procedures

Some patients require additional procedures to prepare the implant site for successful implant placement. These additional procedures may include grafting of extraction site with bone, sinus lifting with bone, etc.

Options for Full Mouth Dental Implants:

Implant Supported Over Denture:

Implant supported dentures are a type of denture which is supported by Implants. Sometimes a person does not have enough jaw bone in the mouth to support a denture. Reasons for less bone:

  • Gum disease
  • Missing teeth
  • Wearing loose denture

When there is not enough jaw bone present in the mouth, the denture does not have enough retention and support. Usually, the lower jaw has less bone and because of mobility of the tongue, the lower denture is less stable. To provide better stability, we place two to four Implants in the jaw bone. Implants act like roots of teeth. After that, we place attachments on top of Implants and on the denture. The denture locks on to the implants with these attachments. This snap in denture holds better and does not move. You do not need to apply denture cream. Support from implants give you an ultimate fit denture.

Advantages of Implant supported Over Denture:

  • Speak more clearly
  • Better chewing ability
  • No social embarrassment that comes with loose dentures

Over Denture Procedure:

We will make the dentures first. We will place implants and allow the bone to heal for 3-4 months. You can still use your denture while implants are healing. Once implants are healed, we place attachments that attach the implants to the denture

Implant supported Hybrid Denture

We place 6-8 implants in the jaw and make a framework that binds these implants and add teeth on top of this framework to make a hybrid denture. A hybrid denture is fixed and it does not come out of your mouth. In some cases, it is a better alternative to an implant supported Over Denture.

Implant Bridge:

We place 8-12 implants in the jaw and place a porcelain bridge connecting those implants. The benefit of these fixed bridges over a hybrid denture is, It is easier to maintain and esthetically better. The teeth look more like your natural teeth.
